Bison Smith Passes Away

It is with a heavy heart that we at All Pro Wrestling say goodbye to one of the top graduates from the APW Boot Camp, Mark “Bison” Smith.

Smith died at the age of 38 in Puerto Rico from heart complications.

After graduating from the Boot Camp, Smith went on to tour the globe and make his living as a Professional Wrestler, with stops along the way at ROH.

Boot Camp Open Enrollment!

Many of you have dreams of becoming a pro wrestler – live your dream. Attend a pro wrestling training school. Don’t think you can’t live your dream? Think again! Look at Matt Hyson AKA Spike Dudley and Brother Runt who has wrestled in ECW, WWE and TNA. Matt started in APW Boot Camp with manager training. When APW discovered how talented this little guy was, we encouraged him to train as a wrestler. Now look!! He lived his dream… It didn’t come easy. He had to pay his dues in APW and then again in ECW and probably again in WWE and TNA later in his career. The fact is Matt Hyson has earned a living since 1996 in pro wrestling and all at 5′8″ and 135 pounds when he relocated from Rhode Island. He took the big step and signed up with the APW Boot Camp, worked his tail off, was humble, paid his dues and was at the right place at the right time when ECW came calling after we helped him market his portfolio and put it together.

Not many schools take that extra step above training but at APW, we do get involved in your career. Our staff books you on other events here locally and in Puerto Rico, Japan, Mexico and other top Indies like NWA Pro. We played a huge part in the marketing of talents like Michael Modest to WCW and Modest, Donovan Morgan and Bison Smith to a major promotion, Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan with President, Wrestling Legend Mr. Misawa.

You too can live your dream! Pro Wrestling isn’t for everyone. Don’t get in it for the money alone. Get in it for the love of the sport and you will go much further in this industry. Pick out the best wrestling school that fits your needs. Things you should consider are pricing, financing, place to live, reputation, length of training and finally cost and discounts. Things you should ask yourself: What can a school do for me? There are lots of schools that train you in 30 days to 6 months and with those schools if you’re lucky, you’ll find yourself struggling financially at the Indy level because it’s no secret, there is no money in Indy wrestling. Be smart, find someone that can give you unique hands on training. Find a school that will assist you in looking for a job if you are relocating and a place to live. Find a school that will look after your interests after you are trained and help you get booked with a major promotion.

I encourage you to take a look at the three camps in detail. Use our menus to navigate around the Boot Camp section of our website. Make sure to visit our listings of our top graduates page and our Boot Camp accomplishments page. I am sure you’ll recognize a few of the names from television. I am sure for those that have a knowledge of the history of pro wrestling at this level, you’ll be familiar with some of the accomplishments. Don’t forget to visit the pricing page and learn about the discounts offered and very affordable financing plans with no credit checks and no interest.

By all means remember to complete an online application to receive your brochure and don’t procrastinate once you have done that because for those that sign up within 30 days of completing the online application, receive a huge $500 discount which is almost 10% of your training fees. Sign up within 7 days of your “Recruiting Interview” and we will double that discount to $1,000.

So the serious need to get started and we look forward to training you!

The World Wide Internet Championship

The APW World Wide Internet Championship is one of the most recognized and respected championships in Professional Wrestling today. In 1999, All Pro Wrestling Founder Roland Alexander wanted to take the gaining popularity of the internet and apply it to All Pro Wrestling, which has always been at the forefront of whatever new media has been created.

In 1999, a Tournament was held to determine the very first World Wide Internet Champion, a tournament which came down to two APW Boot Camp Graduates, Mike Modest and Tony Jones, whom you will remember from the famous documentary Beyond the Mat. Mike Modest would go down in the record books by defeating Tony Jones and being crowned the very first Internet Champion.

Over the years, the World Wide Internet Championship itself has been the reason of many of APW’s greatest rivalries, and the prestige associated with the unique purple belt is ever increasing, with wrestlers all over the globe constantly chomping at the bit to have an opportunity to add that championship to their resume.

It has been well documented that former champion “Wrestling Personified” Rik Luxury spent the better part of 2 years hunting for the purple glory. Ever since stepping foot into the All Pro Wrestling ring, Luxury has spent every waking moment preparing for the chance to win the title, something he was able to achieve on May 6, 2011 when he beat Boot Camp Graduate “Out of Control” Matt Carlos in a Ladder Match to realize his dream.

Students attending the Boot Camp often dream of being the Internet Champion. Ultimately, every professional wrestler in All Pro Wrestling’s goal is to one day become the Universal Heavyweight Champion, but there is no greater stepping stone than the Internet Championship. There is no better way to prove yourself as being one of the best than to beat the current champion and take home the championship, with the rights, privileges, and respect that comes with it.

Ernesto DeLaTorre, current Boot Camp Student, said “Of course I want to be the Internet Champion. Just look at the list, Christopher Daniels, Psicosis, Super Dragon, Daniel Bryan, the list goes on and on. Even my trainers Matt Carlos and Killer Jay Mathias have either held the title, or fought in insane matches just to have the chance to hold it.”

Now with Colt Cabana as the current reigning and defending World Wide Internet Champion, who knows who will come out of the woodwork to secure their place in history. Rest assured, with Cabana’s goal of wrestling for All Pro Wrestling  taken care of, and adding his win of the Internet Championship on top of that, it won’t be long before you see the host of the Art of Wrestling Podcast appear at APW once again. After all, what good is a champion, if he doesn’t defend what he fought to attain.

Here is a list of the 26 wrestlers who have become the World Wide Internet Champion:

Michael Modest
Christopher Daniels
Donovan Morgan
Vinny Massaro
Jardi Frantz
Super Dragon
Bryan Daneilson (WWE’s Daniel Bryan)
Larry Blackwell

APW Gym Wars on TV 11/19/11

ALL PRO WRESTLING “GYM WARS”
EPISODE # 97
TV DATE AIRED: 11/19/11
ANNOUNCERS: KILLER JAY MATHIAS & MATTHEW THEALL

This weeks episode has both championships being defended!

The World Wide Internet Championship is being defended by Rik Luxury against Colt Cabana. Colt made his presence felt a few weeks back after Rik had just defeated three others in a Fatal Four Way Elimination Bout. Rik grabbed a microphone and flaunted the fact he’s beaten everyone that APW has pushed his way. Rik went on to throw out an open challenge not knowing that Colt Cabana was in the building visiting APW owner Roland Alexander. Colt accepted the challenge, commissioner JJ Perez signed the match and today we get this epic battle!

Main Event has the first title defense for the newly crowned Timothy Thatcher. Thatcher has overcome a lot of injuries over the last year at the hands of The Carnival of Shadows. Jeckles is not too pleased to have tapped out to Thatcher and ending his Universal reign.
